The Beaches of Paradise (Sri Lanka Beach)

Sri Lanka is gridled by 1,600km. Of beautiful tropical beaches on it's southern, western, eastern and northern shores. A well- rostered rainfall pattern keeps one half of the island's beaches rain-free year round.

Prime resort beaches stretch from beyond waikkal to Negombo, Mount Lavinia, wadduwa, Kalutara and Beruwela in the west and south-west, and to Bentota, Ahungalle, Hikkaduwa, Dikwella, Tangalle and Hambantota in the south. Pristine east-coast beaches sweep north and south of Trincomalee - Nilaveli, Kuchaveli, Pasekudah and Arugam Bay.

Whatever the Location, the magic is everywhere. Sparkling surf and golden sands bathed in tropical sunshine and coral wonderlands jeweled with tropical fish. Many beach resorts, especially in the south and west, have superb leisure and recreational facilities and professional services for wind surfing, water skiing, scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, surfing, boating, jet-scooter and fun tube riding and deep sea fishing.

Resort hotels also offer good in-house animation and entertainment; many also have fitness centers and ayurvedic (herbal) therapy. Fresh sea food is a specially at all beach resorts. Resort hinterlands offer many special- interest and life style experiences such as exorcism rituals, demon-mask carving, stilt fishing, palm-toddy taping, lace-making and turtle sanctuaries.
