Thotalagala Tea Plantation Bungalow, Sri Lanka

Thotalagala Tea Plantation Bungalow is located in Haputale, which is 4500 ft. above sea level in the tea growing district of Uva in Sri Lanka, a popular health resort. The distance from Colombo is 190 km and driving time by car is 4½ hours. The most convenient route is through Ratnapura – Pelmadulla – Balangoda – Belihuloya – Beragala – Haputale.

The colonial style bungalow nestles amidst lush green tea plantations owned by our parent company, the Lankem Group. The Bungalow has seven bedrooms (including three rooms with fireplaces), a sitting room and a smoking room also with fireplaces and a dining room and verandah. The bungalow has hot and cold water in all toilets as well as bathtubs. A fresh water swimming pool is sited in the garden, which is fed by a mountain spring. Another fresh water spout is also available for open-air bathing. The garden is well laid out with terraced lawns and has a variety of flowers and plants including a “Barum” Tree. Birds are in abundance due to the adjoining Pita Rathmalie jungle and lake in close proximity.
